QiD is not a KYC solution 

QiD is also not a ‘digital identity’

And QiD is not another biometric 

Rather, QiD is a new identity primitive that does what we as humans naturally and instinctively do every time we recognise someone…

Using the power of Neuromorphic Computing - an advanced AI that accurately simulates human cognition (how the human mind/brain apprehends reality) - research scientists from aiQ Cognitive Technologies (ex University of Johannesburg - South Africa) successfully managed to develop a powerful neural algorithm (‘aiDx’) that is able to semantically interpret ‘personal identity’ - that part of each of us which uniquely defines who we each are, regardless of what we each call ourselves - and express personal identity as a large, complex, irreversible, de-identifiable ‘Identity Checksum’ that is unique to each person

And QiD does it all on any computing device (desktop, notebook, tablet, kiosk, mobile phone - even low end phones) equipped with a ~2MP camera inside a standard web browser 

QiD assigns a unique 128-bit UUID (‘QiD Identifier’) to a person’s Identity Checksum that can be used to identify a person for life

In short… QiD is able to anonymously identify someone without having to know anything about the someone - no usernames, no passwords, no PINs, no OTPs, no 2FAs/MFAs, no CAPTCHAs, no biometrics and no identity documents that can be copied, cloned, lost, stolen, Photoshopped…

As an anonymous neuromorphic identity technology, QiD ensures that privacy is preserved

And since we all possess ‘personal identity’, QiD ensures that everyone is eligible to be be included in a trust system even the ‘undocumented’ and the ‘unknown’

When a new customer, a new employee, a new student, a new patient… is being recruited:

• no explicit onboarding process; and 

• no identity registration check (no DHA - South Africa, no Aadhaar - India…) 

need to be performed

KYC friction is reduced to a simple ‘selfie’ in less than 3 seconds, significantly reducing the possibility of a new application or an online purchase being abandoned

Since a person can never be divested of his/her own personal identity, things like duplicate aliases (the same person known by different names) and identity theft (an impostor impersonating someone else), QiD promises to arrest the rampant incidence of synthetic identity theft/fraud 

Unlike KYC solutions which all attempt to confirm the identity claims of a person, QID instead establishes the actual identity of a person by grounding identity in the unique distinctiveness of the person himself/herself

QiD includes the ability to:

• check if someone is an actual real/live person and not a high resolution/photorealistic image or 4K video or synthetic 3D print of someone;

• estimate the age of the person for instances where age restrictions apply to a service
