Introduction

aiQ Cognitive Technologies provides the QiD Service, which enables organisations that subscribe to the service to recognise that the same person is interacting with them again - without relying on names, identity numbers, passwords or other personal information.

When a Subscriber requests a QiD transaction, you will be asked to capture a simple selfie using your mobile phone or tablet browser.

How QiD Works

Your selfie is processed using advanced neuromorphic computing to generate an anonymous, irreversible and de-identifiable QiD Checksum that is unique to you and remains remarkably stable throughout adult life.

QiD does not create or retain biometric images or biometric templates for matching, nor can the QiD Checksum be reversed to recreate your appearance.

Personal Information

QiD operates independently of personal information.

QiD neither requires nor depends upon your name, identity number, address, email address, telephone number or any other personal information in order to generate your QiD Checksum.

Any personal information you choose to provide to a Subscriber remains entirely between you and that Subscriber and is governed by their own privacy policy.

Storage & Security

Your QiD Checksum is securely stored and processed exclusively within Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres located in Cape Town, South Africa.

The QiD Checksum is anonymous, irreversible and unintelligible to anyone who does not operate the QiD Service.

Use Of QiD

QiD only processes requests initiated by authorised Subscribers.

The QiD Checksum returned to a Subscriber enables that Subscriber to recognise that the same person has interacted with them previously, without revealing who that person is.

QiD may use essential browser cookies where necessary to simplify your experience and avoid unnecessary repetition during a transaction.

You may disable cookies in your browser at any time, although some functionality may be affected.
