When an app on your mobile phone needs to make use of the camera on your phone, you will normally be asked to give the app permission to activate the camera - this is a standard privacy measure

When your phone requests permission, select ‘Allow’ - this is required for the app to work properly

Wherever possible (different phones/browsers tend to do things slightly differently), select ‘Always Allow’ - this is quite OK and will avoid you having to give permission every time you use the app (other apps are not affected)

If however permission has been disallowed, then you need to reset permission in Settings/Permissions on your phone - this is a manual, once-off process that can easily be performed by following the steps outlined below for your particular device/browser…

For Apple iPhone devices, you need to make a simple adjustment in Settings for the default browser installed on your phone…

1. When prompted by Safari to access the camera, tap 'Allow'

2. If no prompt appears, go to Settings > Safari > Camera

3. Set Camera to 'Allow' (preferred) or 'Ask' (you will be asked every time)

1. When prompted by Chrome to access the camera, tap 'Allow'

2. If no prompt appears, go to Settings > Chrome > Camera

3. Set Camera to 'Allow' (preferred) or 'Ask' (you will be asked every time)

1. When prompted by Firefox to access the camera, tap 'Allow'
